Meet
Rita Casey, Ph.D.
My interest in people and organizations developed early in
my management career as I was supervising departments with 20
or more staff, at times, overseeing both day and night shift
workers. My area of focus was financial and / or production
management, but the issues always seemed to be people related. I
began to notice the difference that just one or two people could
make on a team, the motivating power of setting goals, and perhaps
most critical of all -- hiring the right people for the job.
In 1993, with twenty years of “hands on” experience, I
opened my consulting practice to provide services to smaller
organizations undergoing change or to those with special needs.
I bring tools and perspectives to coach people and organizations
toward high performance as well as knowledge of employment law,
HR best practices, policies, and procedures. Client engagements
have included:
- Recruiting & Staffing. I recruit and
screen candidates utilizing job design and job match assessment
tools to target the recruiting, hiring, and selection process.
My strategy is based on knowledge of employee motivations,
thinking style, and behavior traits as they relate to job
success. Result: The existing salary dollars bring increased
return in productivity and creativity.
- Performance Management & Coaching. My
work with managers is to establish goals, define measurements,
make better hiring decisions, expand leadership skills, and
eliminate rather than tolerate the negatives in the workday. Result:
Resources of time and money employed in more strategic ways;
job satisfaction and effectiveness increase.
- Benefits & Needs
Assessment – Internal Operations. Identify
root or reoccurring problems in staffing areas, benefit administration,
or compliance reporting and work with management and staff
to develop a corrective plan and implementation steps. Provide
ongoing support as needed. Result: Internal systems
sufficient to manage costs, risks, and opportunities.
